Amelia Rose is a Los Angeles–based illustrator whose work combines the expressiveness of folk art with ornate, vintage detail. Her illustrations are primarily painted by hand using layers of colored ink wash on watercolor paper, a traditional process that gives each finished piece a depth and texture unique to work made by hand. Drawing inspiration from folklore, mythology, fantasy, and the history of decorative arts, she creates richly detailed worlds that feel both timeless and contemporary.
Amelia’s illustration work has appeared in projects for major publishers including Penguin Random House, Chronicle Books, and Hachette Book Group. She has also created work for bestselling authors including Sarah J. Maas, Rebecca Ross, and Sir Terry Pratchett.
Amelia has several published works under her belt as well, including Ready For Love Tarot (Penguin 2026), Feline Mystique Oracle (Hachette 2026) and Welcome Traveler (2027).
Amelia lives in sunny Los Angeles, California with her husband and two rescue chihuahuas.
All work is entirely hand-made, and no generative AI is used in any part of the process.
